This will be from the world heritage city Kandy to the marvelous beach area of the east coast of Sri Lanka.
Itinerary
Day 1 :
Arrival, Kandy Cultural Show
- Arrive at Katunayake Bandaranaike International Airport, and meet our representatives.
- Transfer to Kandy, which is approximately a 3 ¼ drive.
- Visit the Temple of Tooth Relic, Kandy; the one most sacred Buddhist religious place that has been observed by Buddhists all over the world for thousands of years. The sacred place has become well-known not only among Buddhists but also among other religious people because of its annual Esala Perahera Ceremony; which consists of colorful events and performances.
- Evening cultural show at Kandy Cultural Center close to Temple of Tooth Relic.
- Back to hotel and overnight stay at Kandy.
Day 2 :
Excursions Around Kandy
- Breakfast at the hotel and drive with you to Pinnawala Elephants Orphanage, this is a 1 ¼ hour drive.
- The orphanage has been established in 1975 for orphaned wild elephants around the island, and now the place has become a famous tourist destination. You can feed elephants by yourself and take selfies, and photos with them.
- Drive to Royal Botanical Gardens Peradeniya.
- Lunch at a recommended restaurant, after lunch you can taste traditional Sri Lankan sweets at the restaurant.
- Back to Kandy and trek in Udawattakele forest reserve.
- Visit Kandy View Point; this owns a panoramic view of the world heritage city of Kandy.
Shopping around Kandy.
- Back to hotel and overnight stay at Kandy.
Day 3 :
Wasgamuwa National Park, Polonnaruwa
- Breakfast at the hotel, transfer to Wasgamuwa National Park; approximately 3 hours drive.
- Safari in Wasgamuwa National Park; a nature reserve that has a large herd of Asian elephants and is one of the important bird areas in Sri Lanka. Wasgamuwa has been declared a National Park in 1984 for orphaned wild animals during the Mahaweli Project. When considering the fauna of this national park 23 species of mammals, 143 species of birds, and 17 species of reptiles can be found in Wasgamuwa National Park, while more than 150 floral species recorded from the park.
- Transfer to Polonnaruwa; approximately 2 hours drive.
- Overnight stay at Polonnaruwa.
Day 4 :
Polonnaruwa, Ancient Sites Visit
- Breakfast at the hotel
- Transfer to Sigiriya will take nearly 2 hours drive from Trincomalee
- Visit ancient sites in the historical city of Polonnaruwa which has been declared a world heritage by UNESCO.
- Drive with you to Passikudah, approximately a 1 ½ hour drive.
- Evening Beach Leisure at Passikudah Beach.
- Overnight stay at Passikudah.
Day 5 :
Passikudah Beach
- Breakfast at the hotel
- Snorkeling and beach leisure in Passikudah
- Overnight Stay at Passikudah
Day 6 :
Trincomalee City and Beach
- Breakfast at the hotel, drive to Trincomalee, approximately a 3 ½ hour drive.
- Visit Fort Fredrik, a fort built by the Portuguese in 1634 CE.
- Lunch at a recommended restaurant in Trincomalee
- Visit Koneshwaran Hindu Temple.
- Beach Leisure at Trincomalee Beach.
- Overnight stay at Trincomalee
Day 7 :
Departure
- Breakfast at the hotel
- Transfer you to Katunayake Bandaranaike International Airport for departure; approximately 5 hour's drive.
